$96.3 Million was the total amount raised. $19.2 million raised for annual support fund, 12 new named professorships, 23.1 million raised for student support, and a $20 million pledge, the largest pledge in school history. A total of 4,728 donors.

The Meliora Challenge

Ever Better

The Simon Business School’s capital campaign raised $96.3 million—well over our $85 million campaign goal—thank you for your help in this important effort. Over 4,700 alumni and friends  contributed to the Simon campaign. Our donations and commitments will support the School for years to come.

Dean Ainslie’s new strategic plan calls for Simon to be back in the top 25 within five years at an endowment draw of under 5 percent. Campaign donations of all sizes have helped kick-start this plan. With the help of annual fund giving, the School has made significant investments in the career management center—and our employment rate three months after graduation is now in the top ten in the country. Hard work, together with more resources, is making a difference.

Scholarships are another key component to achieving the strategic plan. Alumni and friends have given more than $23 million in scholarship gifts and commitments during the campaign. Simon’s applications are up 22 percent over last year—and up 39 percent among domestic applicants. The competition for top applicants remains fierce, however, and scholarship dollars are a critical tool in attracting the best students.

Of course, the cornerstone of a Simon education has always been its world-class faculty. Donors endowed 12 new professorships during this campaign, and contributed even more funds to support junior faculty—all of which will help to ensure that we can recruit and retain top faculty for decades to come. The legendary quality and rigor in the Simon classroom will continue.

Thank you. The campaign is a success because of you, and I am deeply grateful on behalf of the entire Simon team.

Warmest regards,

Janice Willett  ’78S (MBA), P’15S
