Professor Heitzman’s research interests include the role of accounting information, taxes, and agency conflicts in mergers and acquisitions and the effect of taxes on business decisions and asset prices. His work has been published in the Journal of Accounting and Economics, the Journal of Financial Economics, and the Journal of Accounting Research. He has teaching interests in financial and managerial accounting as well as taxes and business strategy. He is a Certified Public Accountant in Arizona.
