Rochester, N.Y.-April 4, 2007-Aspiring student entrepreneurs at the Simon Graduate School of Business, University of Rochester, will present their business models to a panel of judges during the first annual Mark Ain Business Model Competition on April 9, 2007, from 4:45–6:30 p.m. in Schlegel Hall, Room 201.
Three teams of Simon student finalists will compete to win $10,000 toward the implementation of their business plan. The competition is made possible by support from Simon alumnus and entrepreneur Mark S. Ain '67, founder of Kronos Incorporated, the Chelmsford, Mass.-based market leader in the workforce management industry.
In addition to Ain, the panel of judges will include Edward J. Ackley '64 ('53 UR), owner and president of The Filter Store in Mendon, N.Y., and former C.E.O. of Consler Corporation (now owned by Graver Technologies); Bob Tobin, entrepreneur and instructor for the University of Rochester's Young Entrepreneurs Academy; and Gina Marie Mangiamele, staff advisor to the Simon Entrepreneurs Club. The competition is sponsored by Simon Entrepreneurs, a student-run club whose mission is to promote entrepreneurship at the Simon School.
