EVENT: Public Forum on Weathering the Economic Climate

Rochester, N.Y.—October 15, 2008The Simon Graduate School of Business at the University of Rochester is hosting a public forum about Weathering the Economic Climate on Monday, November 3, 2008, from 5:30─7:30 p.m. at Geva Theatre Center in Rochester.

            Panelists will include Daniel J. Burnside, director of quantitative research at Clover Capital Management, a 2001 Simon School graduate, an adjunct lecturer in finance at Simon, and a chartered financial analyst and certified financial planner; Ronald H. Fielding, senior vice president at OppenheimerFunds and a 1976 graduate of Simon; G. William Schwert, Distinguished University Professor and professor of finance and statistics at the Simon School, an expert in stock market volatility; Clifford W. Smith Jr., Louise and Henry Epstein Professor of Business Administration, professor of finance and economics at the Simon School; and Toni M. Whited, Kuechenmeister-Bascom Professor of Finance at the University of Wisconsin School of Business. The panel will be moderated by Simon School Dean Mark Zupan with time for questions from the audience. Sandra Parker of the Rochester Business Alliance will deliver the welcome.
