Rochester, N.Y.—April 7, 2009—The Simon Graduate School of Business at the University of Rochester is expanding its executive education offerings for open enrollment. On April 30, 2009, the School will offer the first in a series of executive forums, titled Governance in a Time of Change. Open to senior leadership team members from local and regional firms, the forum will include lectures and panel discussions featuring Simon School faculty, alumni and other experts in real world change management. Richard Sands, chairman of the board at Constellation Brands, will deliver the keynote address on Embracing Change.
Speakers from an array of industries including financial services, mortgage and commercial real estate, manufacturing and consumer products will be featured. Among them are: James A. Brickley, Gleason Professor of Business Administration and professor of economics and management and of finance at the Simon School; José Coronas, partner, Trillium Group; Clifford Corrall, former executive vice president, Countrywide Securities Corporation; Christopher Dunstan, entrepreneur and serial C.F.O.; Clifford W. Smith Jr., Epstein Professor of Business Administration and professor of finance and economics at Simon; and Jon Van Duyne, principal, Booz Allen & Company.
In the past year, the Simon School has expanded its collaboration with businesses and the extended community via its collaborative and Customized Executive Education offerings for a breadth of industries, as well as lectures in Boston, New York City, and public forums debating such relevant topics such as “Major Bankruptcies and Their Impact on the Economy” and “Weathering the Economic Climate.”
“Our strategy is to extend the reach of the Simon School beyond the traditional classroom to maximize the insights and experiences of our world-class faculty, alumni and communities of business experts worldwide,” says Dean Mark Zupan.
“The need is strong for business leaders to gain insight from their peers and other experts to craft a successful path forward in today’s economy,” notes Carin Conlon, Simon School executive director of executive programs. “In less than a day, executives can gain better understanding of the importance of governance and share the experience of consultants and business leaders who have embraced change to make a difference in their business and industry.”
