Strategic Communication Skills for the Classroom and Your Career

The ELUSC Program at Simon, founded in 1995, is one of the most well-established and highly regarded communication preparatory programs for international graduate business students in the United States. This program offers the incoming international student a unique opportunity to learn about U.S. academic, cultural, and business environments while developing highly effective managerial communication skills in English. Through a series of innovative assignments and activities, you will be introduced to terminology and concepts from key business subjects, practice U.S. classroom protocol while interacting with Simon faculty and staff, and improve your intercultural and interpersonal management communication skills. In the ELUSC Program, you’ll form strong working relationships with fellow students that will help to support you through your Simon business study and enrich your professional network throughout your career. Along with comprehensive, intensive, and engaging academic preparation, you will have a great opportunity to “learn the ropes” – get settled into, and familiar with, the Simon School, the University of Rochester, and the Greater Rochester Area—before you begin your MS/MBA study.

ELUSC alumni provide their own impressive testimonials concerning the value of this program to their academic and career success.

"The ELUSC program was extremely valuable for me, not only in terms of strengthening the English skills that are crucial in the current globalized world, but it also provided the adequate time to adjust to a new culture. The program offered an opportunity to make friends and to take care of all the non-academic aspects that are so needed. Participating in ELUSC gave me an early start not only in academics, but also with my job search. I would highly recommend it to every foreign student."
