Simon and You - the International Student

The University of Rochester’s Simon Graduate School of Business enjoys a distinguished reputation among top-tier M.B.A. programs throughout the U.S. and abroad. Additionally, Simon features a highly international student body. In Simon’s vibrant multicultural learning environment, international and domestic students work collaboratively on challenging projects, prepare for case discussions and perform intensive group work. The English Language and U.S. Culture (ELUSC) Program at the School was developed to prepare you for the linguistic, academic and cultural demands of graduate business study in the U.S. Through a vigorous and motivating course of formal study and extracurricular learning activities, you will have the opportunity to strengthen your language skills and increase your knowledge of academic, cultural and business practices in the U.S.

The English Language and U.S. Culture (ELUSC) Program is offered in three sessions: ELUSC-A (4 weeks)-Monday, June 22- Friday,July 17, 2009 which focuses upon the acquisition/enhancement of major language skills—reading, writing, speaking and listening—through a theme-based approach; ELUSC-B/ Business Focus (5 weeks)-Monday,July 27- Friday,August 28, 2009 in which students not only experience a rigorous curriculum in speaking, listening, reading and writing in English, but acquire an in-depth knowledge of the essential nuances of business through case studies, global publications and presentations by Simon’s internationally-acclaimed faculty and guest lecturers; and ELUSC-C (8 weeks)- Monday, October 12- Thursday, December 3, 2009 designed for those who wish to pursue the accelerated Simon M.B.A. program which commences in January 2009. The Admissions staff will be happy to advise you about which session(s) might best meet your needs.

Registration deadlines are as follows:
ELUSC-A  May 1st
ELUSC-B  June 1st
ELUSC-C September 1st
