F.A.Ct. Curriculum

Corporate recruiters say they are looking to hire M.B.A.s who can solve unstructured business problems and present workable solutions. The Simon School’s Frame, Analyze, and Communicate (F.A.Ct.) curriculum equips students with exactly those skills.

  • Frame the problem - Break down a large, ambiguous question into smaller sub-problems
  • Analyze the problem - Find relevant data, form and test hypotheses, to reach a conclusion
  • Communicate the implications of your analysis - Persuade others of your conclusion

Simon faculty introduced two required core courses (Framing & Analyzing Business Problems 1 and 2) that replace the program’s traditional statistics study. This sequence teaches you how to approach solving unstructured problems in a logical and empirical way, while introducing statistical tools and concepts. The Communicating Business Decisions sequence of the M.B.A. program provides the “Ct.”, (communicate) piece, of the curriculum, training you in the principles and standards for written and oral communication needed for a successful business career.
