Summer Business Institute Schedule

Week One

Be prepared to hit the ground running in the first week of the Summer Business Institute @ Simon. You will be introduced to the basics of management and communication, have dinner with a local C.E.O. and work with the Career Management Center on building your résumé, marketing your skills and developing networking and interviewing techniques.

Week Two

Now that you have some management basics under your belt, it is time to delve into the world of financial statements and reading a balance sheet using Microsoft Excel. Get your first taste of competitive markets, profitability and risk analysis. Before you know it you’ll be applying those leadership and teamwork skills you learned in week one.

Week Three

It’s all coming together but there’s still more work to be done. This week you’ll tackle the concepts of consumer behavior, demand and pricing. By mid-week you will take these marketing principles, along with the others you’ve learned in management and accounting, and apply them to an entrepreneurship module.

On Friday morning, you and your team are ready to make that final project presentation and put into action all that you’ve learned over the past three weeks.

With the confidence and mastery of business fundamentals gained at the Undergraduate Summer Business Institute @ Simon, you will be prepared to enter the business world as a potential leader who knows the value of teamwork and thinks with a strong, analytical mind. Best of all, you’ll shine during that interview!
