Mission and Services

Mission
The mission of the Office of the Registrar is to house, maintain and protect the confidentiality of student academic records; to support the academic mission of the University by providing efficient and effective services to students, faculty and staff; to monitor the implementation and adherence of academic policy and to comply with all Federal and State regulations. The Registrar's Office adheres to the guidelines on professional practices and ethical standards developed by the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO). The office also complies with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and University of Rochester policies. The vision of the Registrar's Office is to be recognized for academic integrity, excellent customer service and delivery of advancements in technology to better service faculty, staff and students.

Services
The Office of the Registrar maintains the official academic records for all current and former students; publishes the undergraduate and graduate schedule of courses; schedules classrooms; produces the final exam schedule; conducts registration; records grades; ensures graduates have fulfilled requirements; verifies enrollment and degrees; issues diplomas and plans commencement.
