Yung-Ju (Grace) Hung
MS Marketing Class of 2011
Yung-Ju Hung learned the importance of effective decision-making and creative thinking while working on the marketing insights team at IBM Taiwan from 2008-2010. "The challenges of work gave me the need to build a more solid background in marketing and have a wider exposure to the global business world," says Yung-Ju, who decided to move more than 7,000 miles from home to study at Simon because of the School's good reputation and the recommendation of alumni.
"Simon is a great place to prepare myself with data analysis and quantitative skills, which I believe will be very useful in the future and differentiate us from others," she says.
A member of the Simon Marketing Association, Yung-Ju has been particularly impressed by the Marketing Management class, which she calls "dynamic."
" The professor’s teaching style and many case discussions let everyone feel really involved in class," Yung-Ju says. "The lectures given by guest speakers from different industries are certainly the highlight of the whole course. I have learned some invaluable industry-specific knowledge through their experience sharing. It is also a sneak peek for me to understand the life of doing marketing in the real business world."
"I am impressed by the diversity of students. My classmates are all very talented and have different specialties in their own professional areas. I am enjoying and learning a lot from working with them."
