Simon Toastmaster Club
Who is the Simon Toastmasters Club?
We are an official club of Toastmasters International located at the Simon Graduate School of Business. We are made up of Full-Time, Part-Time, and Executive MBA Students with a vast majority of backgrounds and industries.
The club was formed to prepare our MBA graduates with the skills necessary to excel in the workforce. We help students better their presentation and communication skills by providing a safe and nurturing environment for all public speakers ranging from beginner to experienced presenter.
What is Toastmasters International?
Toastmasters International is an international non-profit organization focused on public speaking. It was originally formed in 1924 by Ralph C. Smedley in the basement of a local YMCA in Santa Ana, California.
Mr. Smedley developed the first Toastmasters group to educate young up-and-coming professionals in the art of public speaking and in presiding over meetings. The group did this by encouraging the students to practice in a friendly, safe, and nurturing environment.
Over the years, Toastmasters International has grown to unite over 250,000 members in more than 12,500 clubs in 106 different countries throughout the world.
