Rochester has pro teams in almost every sport as well as top facilities for fans who want to go see a game live. Some of Rochester’s sports teams include:

Golf in Rochester

We have more golf holes per capita than any other industrial city in the northeast. The Rochester area has more than 95 golf courses and that number increases yearly (23 private; 65 public & semi-private; and 9 Executive/Par 3 courses.

In addition, the annual Stonehurst Capital Regatta takes place in October right past the River Campus on the Genesee River. This popular event draws teams from colleges across North America.

Festivals & Amusement Parks

There is a festival practically every week in the summer in Rochester, celebrating local neighborhoods, ethnic diversity, and exceptional food. On the banks of Lake Ontario, beaches are a popular warm weather destination. Rochester is also near some popular amusement parks, including:

Recreation

The City of Rochester offers parks, biking and hiking trails along the Erie Canal. The Finger Lakes area is less than an hour’s drive from Rochester, with skiing, hiking, canoeing, swimming, and more, while nearby Bristol Mountain is popular with skiers. The Adirondack Mountains are about 150 miles from Rochester, and Letchworth State Park is even closer to home.
