Graduating student spotlight: Shuang (Ashley) Liang ’23S (MSBA)

Shuang (Ashley) Liang is a recent graduate of the Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA) program. Reflecting on her Simon experience, Ashley shares her best memories from the program as well as advice to future students.

What are your best memories from the MSBA program?

I made a lot of amazing memories during my studies in the MSBA program:

I sincerely appreciate the solid presentation skills Professor Marsherall taught me. He is patient, down to the details, and    always trying to deliver the valuable communication insights we need! In addition, I enjoyed the Pricing Analytics course where Professor Sunada taught us diversified pricing strategy and how models are used in business.

The info sessions and career advising provided by both Benet Career Peers and my career advisor helped me to polish my resume, initiate networking outreach, and prepare for interviews. This guidance allowed me to stay on track and helped me to land my summer internship at Otsuka Pharmaceuticals.

The emphasis placed on team collaboration allowed me to communicate and learn from a diverse team. I'm truly grateful for all my teammates I had the opportunity to work with.

What are your plans after graduation?

Work as an analyst and gain experience about industry insights and analytical skills.

Where do you see yourself five years from now?

My current goal is to find a position as an analyst or a consultant at a company where I can grow and take on new challenges over time. Ultimately, I’d like to assume more management responsibilities and get involved in product strategy. I’m looking forward to becoming a professional and making an impact in my career.

Any advice for future MSBA students?

Try to find a balance point between coursework and finding jobs.
