Release Date:

The holiday season will again be made brighter for local children through the efforts of the 21st annual Simon Business School Secret Santa Program. The program is organized by Simon Volunteers, a student-run organization at the Simon School, and unites students, faculty, staff, and alumni each year through fundraising, shopping, and wrapping holiday gifts for needy children throughout the city of Rochester.

A festive Secret Santa Gift Wrapping Party is set for Friday, December 6, 2013, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., in the Schlegel Hall, Eisenberg Rotunda on the University of Rochester River Campus. Simon Volunteers will partner with the following four organizations that assist children and families in the neighborhood surrounding the University: Catholic Family Center, Pathways to Peace, East High School, and Rochester Childfirst Network.
Last year, the club raised over $14,000 enabling the Simon School to provide clothing, toys, and school supplies for 191 children in the Rochester area.

“The Secret Santa Program brings together the entire Simon School community in a united effort to help those in need during the holiday season,” says Dean Mark Zupan. “In addition to making the holiday brighter for Rochester children, it exposes our international students to American holiday traditions and enriches those traditions for our domestic students, faculty, and staff. Simon is proud to participate in this community service project each year.”
