I chose Simon because of its reputation for being a quantitative-focused, economics-based business school and for its strong commitment to veterans.

Marine Corps Veteran Finds New Purpose

Greg, a member of Simon’s MBA Class of 2018, grew up in Syracuse, NY—just down the road (I-90) from the University of Rochester. Before Greg arrived at Simon, he served eight years in the United States Marine Corps as an infantry officer. During that time, Greg did two overseas deployments to Africa and the Middle East in 2011, and then to Afghanistan in 2012. Following his deployments, Greg was an instructor for newly-commissioned Marine Corps Officers in Quantico, VA, for three years.

Greg returned to the academic environment full time, pursuing his MBA at Simon Business School, focusing on finance and competitive and organizational strategy. While at Simon, Greg worked with the Admissions Office as an event ambassador, served as a second-year coach, worked as a tutor, and was on the leadership board for the Simon Volunteers club.

After graduating from Simon, Greg accepted a full-time offer with M&T Bank in Buffalo, NY, working in the Commercial Planning & Analytics (CP&A) department. Greg initially did strategy development work with the bank’s commercial deposit portfolio and was then promoted to manage a team focused on commercial profitability and analytics.

In his free time, Greg enjoys being outdoors as much as possible, staying active, spending time with family and friends, traveling around and exploring the world, and mixing up delicious (and messy) dishes in the kitchen.
